North Carolina College Application Week ends Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 5 p.m. Eastern. That is 5 p.m., not midnight.

Many participating North Carolina colleges and universities are waiving application fees for eligible students who apply through College for North Carolina (CFNC). For families across Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender counties, this is a chance to save on application costs.

How to use College Application Week

Start through CFNC’s Application Hub. CFNC says this is the route that guarantees the advertised fee waiver at participating colleges. Review the current school list and each application’s requirements before submitting.

The initiative is designed for North Carolina high school seniors. Other applicants should check with each college about eligibility. A waived application fee does not mean tuition is free or admission is guaranteed.

Mentors and families: check in today

Our recent Saturday Success Academy college tour announcement highlighted UNC Pembroke and Fayetteville State University. Exploring options is one step. For eligible seniors ready to apply, this weekend offers a practical next one.

Mentors: Ask a student what help they need. Review their plan together while leaving the choices and application in their hands.

Students and families: Gather the required information, review the application, and submit before Sunday’s 5 p.m. Eastern cutoff. Save the submission confirmation.

100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina is sharing this CFNC opportunity to help young women and young men take their next step. Do not let the deadline pass while an application is still sitting in draft.
