About 100 Black Men
The 100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina was formed in 2007 and has helped young men and women across southeastern North Carolina see what’s possible. We mentor through six school partnerships, guide teens through Success Academy, take select students to the national conference, and award scholarships that help them take their next step.
We believe a mentor’s job is to show up, listen, and help a young person find their own way. Our members share their time and experience so students can build skills, ask hard questions, and make informed choices.
This work takes a community. When families, schools, and neighbors stand together, more young people have the support to grow, lead, and give back right here at home.

100 Black Men Leadership
Kevin Briggs
PRESIDENT
Leads the chapter. Before that, he ran the chapter's Black Men's Health and Wellness Summit, along with being a guiding force and engine within the Success Academy.
Clarence Armbrister
VICE PRESIDENT, ADMINISTRATION
Keeps the chapter's records and minutes, and holds every member's mentor training certificate. Nobody works with a student until that paperwork is in.
Jeremy Brown
VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE
Handles the chapter's money and co-directs Success Academy with Nick Green. He hands out the scholarships at the breakfast every April.
Angelo Williams
IMMEDIATE Past President
Mentors middle school students and supports fundraising and the annual golf tournament while helping keep the chapter focused and accountable.
Stan Hixon
VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS
Has chaired the Golf Tournament Committee and played a key role in Success Academy, mentoring and inspiring students throughout the chapter’s programs.
Joe Conway
Member-At-Large
A longtime Success Academy contributor, he leads the chapter’s marketing and communications, overseeing social media and website design.
