Our Privacy Policy
100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina mentors young people in Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties. This page explains what we collect on this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

The short version: we collect what we need to run our programs. Nothing more. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our EIN is 26-2105444.

What we collect
Three forms on this site ask for information.

Getting your student started. A parent or guardian gives us their own first and last name, email and phone number, the student's full name, grade and school, which program they are interested in, anything else they want us to know, and confirmation that they are the student's parent or legal guardian.

Membership interest. An applicant gives us their name, email, mobile number, the county where they live or work, their employer and role, a sponsoring member if they have one, a summary of their service, and an answer to a question about past removal from youth-serving positions.
​
We ask applicants not to put a Social Security number, driver license number, or any other sensitive identifier on that form. If screening needs that information, it is collected later through a separate secure process. Not through this website.

Contact. Your name, email, phone, organization, the kind of inquiry, how you heard about us, and your message.
​
The site itself keeps standard server records, such as IP address, browser and pages visited, for security and performance. It sets the cookies it needs to load and work. We do not run ads and we do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it and who sees it
Students' information. The mentoring form asks for a student's name, grade and school. A parent or legal guardian fills it out. We do not ask children to give us information directly through this site.

We use it to reach the family, confirm the school, and place the student in the right program. We share it with school staff only as far as coordinating mentoring at that school requires. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete it at any time.

Giving. Donations go through PayPal. Zelle moves bank to bank. Checks come by mail. Larger events use Zeffy. Your card and bank account numbers never touch this website. Those companies handle payment details under their own privacy policies. What we keep is the record our books and your tax receipt require: name, amount, date, and how to reach you.

Who we share with. Companies that run parts of this site or process payments, which today are Wix, PayPal and Zeffy. School staff, for coordinating programs. Anyone the law requires, or where someone's safety is at stake. That is the list. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not put you on anyone else's mailing list.
​
How long we keep it. As long as we need it for the reason you gave it to us, plus what our records and tax obligations require. Ask us to delete it and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
​
Your choices. Ask for a copy of what we have. Ask us to correct it. Ask us to delete it. Ask us to stop emailing you. Email 100blackmenofcoastalnc@gmail.com and we will respond within 10 business days.

Security. We limit access to the people who need it. We will be straight with you: no website is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Other sites. Links here will take you to PayPal, Zeffy, Facebook, Instagram and school websites. Their privacy policies govern what happens there, not ours.

Changes. If we change this policy, we will update this page and change the date below.
