About the Organization
The 100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina, Inc. is a 501 c (3), non-profit organization.
It is a group of African-American men dedicated to improving the quality of life for African-Americans in southeastern North Carolina. With more than 110 chapters in the United States and abroad, 100 Black Men of America impacts more than 125,000 youth.
The 100 Black Men of America, our parent organization began in New York in 1963. These men envisioned an organization that would improve the quality of life for the nation’s African-Americans and other minorities.
Misson Statement
The 100 Black Men of Coastal NC will consist of a group of diverse black men dedicated to improving the quality of life of African American youth in southeastern North Carolina, with a focus on young black males, while enhancing the educational, health, and economic opportunities for all African Americans.

Programs
As a chapter of the 100 Black Men of America, we host programs in some New Hanover and Brunswick county middle schools and host a high school program at Cape Fear Community College.
The Success Academy
The high school years are among the most important in a child’s life. It typically
is when they begin planning on college, picking a career to focus on and begin imagining the remainder of their lives. There is no cost to participate in the program. We come alongside these youth and help provide guidance.
The Success Academy is a ten-month program that includes workshops, seminars, and webinars and speakers to help students prepare to apply to two-year and four-year colleges. We also tour colleges and historical sites. In addition, there is a focus on leadership and professional skill development. Open to all students in Grades 8 to 12, the Success Academy meets twice a month on Saturdays.
